Part V: The Tool Landscape | Chapter 17
Moving Pictures — Choosing a Video Tool

The Goal
By the end of this chapter you will know the main kinds of video tools and what has changed in them: longer clips, generated sound, better movement. You will be able to compare video tools by what one usable second really costs, not by their advertising, and decide when AI video is right for a job and when a phone camera is better.
Understand: what AI video can do now, and what it still can’t
In Chapter 4 you learned the two ways in: image-to-video from an approved still, and text-to-video from a description. Both still apply. What has changed: clips are longer, movement is more natural, and several tools now make sound with the picture: footsteps, wind, even voices.
What hasn’t changed: colours and faces drift, hands and objects still go wrong, and every second costs credits. And the rule from Chapter 3 still holds: real people, places and events that a client presents as their own are filmed for real. A tool that can invent a full classroom of happy pupils doesn’t make that classroom true.
