Part II: AI for Everyday Life and Work | Chapter 6

Writing, Research and Communication

Writing, Research and Communication

The Goal

By the end of this chapter you will be able to use AI to write faster and better — applications, emails, messages, short texts — while keeping your own voice. You will know how to research a topic with AI without falling for invented sources, how to translate well, and how to prepare difficult messages.

Understand: AI writes the draft, you write the final text

AI is excellent at the hardest part of writing: the empty page. It gives you a first version in seconds. But a first version from AI has three typical problems:

  • It sounds like AI. Long sentences, big words, the same phrases everyone else uses (“I am passionate about…”, “In today’s fast-paced world…”).
  • It is general. Without your details, it writes about nobody in particular.
  • It may contain things that are not true about you.

The rule: AI writes the draft, you write the final text. Read every sentence and ask: Is this true? Would I say it like this?
